Weight Pull

Weight Pull is a sport for all dogs of all abilities.

Many dog breeds were developed specifically to pull, but that doesn’t mean they are the only breeds that benefit from this sport!

Weight pull can be competitive or just a fun activity to do with your dog. Regardless of your reasoning for trying this awesome sport, you can build the bond you have with your dog and help them become stronger and more confident.

Competitive Weight Pull

Competitive Weight Pull challenges dogs to pull a loaded cart a specific distance (usually 15-16ft) in under 60 seconds.

Dogs compete in weight classes for highest weight pulled and highest percentage pulled.

SCSD is affiliated with multiple national and international pulling organizations. We strive to host competition pulls throughout the year.

Pulling for Fun!

Weight Pull can be a fun activity to bond with your dog!

Weight Pull helps dogs build confidence, strength, and stamina, in addition to a better relationship with their handler.

Recreational Weight Pull often involved Drag Work – where a dog will drag weights as opposed to pulling a cart.

Weight Pull is a physically demanding sport on our dogs, and it is crucial we set them up for success with proper equipment and training.
